Restoring Safety and Stability in Colver, PA
Challenge
In the quiet, close-knit town of Colver, Pennsylvania—home to a significant population of veterans, many of whom proudly served during the Vietnam War era—a local homeowner was faced with a frustrating and potentially dangerous issue: a cracked, sunken sidewalk. Once solid and dependable, the concrete pathway had become uneven and unstable, raising concerns not only about aesthetics but also about the safety of family, friends, and aging neighbors.
The homeowner, aware of the risks that tripping hazards could pose—especially to those who had given so much to serve their country—sought out a solution that would provide both lasting results and peace of mind. That’s when they turned to Keystone Basement Systems, known throughout Western PA for our reliable, respectful service and expertise in concrete repair.
Solution
After connecting with our Customer Care Specialist, the process was set in motion with a scheduled inspection. Our System Design Specialist met with the homeowner, listened to their concerns, and thoroughly assessed the sidewalk’s condition. The verdict: a combination of settlement and joint failure, contributing to the sinking and cracking.
To restore both function and appearance, we proposed a two-part solution using our cutting-edge products:
PolyLevel® – a high-density polyurethane foam injected beneath the slab to gently and precisely lift the sunken concrete back into place.
NexusPro® Joint Sealant – a durable, flexible sealant applied to the sidewalk joints and cracks to prevent water infiltration and future damage.
Our crew drilled small, strategically placed holes to inject the PolyLevel® foam, which quickly expanded to fill voids beneath the sidewalk, lifting the slabs with pinpoint accuracy. Once level and stable, we applied NexusPro® to the joints, giving the sidewalk a clean, finished look and long-term protection from the elements.
By the end of the day, what was once a safety risk had become a safe, solid walkway—worthy of the strong and resilient community it serves. And just as importantly, the homeowner’s peace of mind had been restored.
