Restoring Pride at Duncan Field in Christy Park

Restoring Pride at Duncan Field in Christy Park
At Keystone Basement Systems, we believe restoring pride goes beyond the homes we serve every day. It extends into the communities we are proud to be part of - the neighborhoods where families gather, kids grow, and memories are made.
That belief was at the center of our recent community restoration project at Duncan Field in Christy Park.
What started as a field showing years of wear and drainage issues became a full day focused on teamwork, hard work, and giving back.
From early morning until well into the evening, our team worked side by side to help bring new life back to a place that means so much to the local community.
Over the years, severe drainage issues had caused water to rush from the outfield toward home plate every time it rained, flooding the infield and making field conditions difficult to maintain. To help solve the problem, a new drainage system was installed beneath the field to collect water and safely redirect it away from the playing surface.
But the project involved much more than drainage improvements.
Throughout the day, our team cleared overgrown brush, removed dead and overhanging trees, replaced worn matting in the batting cage, repainted foul poles, pressure washed bleachers and sidewalks, maintained the field, and installed updated signage throughout the property. Every detail mattered because every improvement contributed to restoring pride in a place that has served the community for generations.
What made this project especially meaningful was seeing everyone come together with a shared purpose. This wasn’t just about improving a baseball field - it was about investing in a space where kids play, families spend time together, and lifelong memories are created.
By the end of the project, the transformation was already clear. Hearing that the field looked better than it had in over a decade made all the hard work worthwhile and reminded us why projects like this matter so much.
We are incredibly thankful to McKeesport for allowing us the opportunity to be part of this restoration effort. We also want to recognize every Keystone Basement Systems team member who dedicated their time, effort, and energy throughout the day to help make this transformation possible. This project would not have happened without the people willing to show up and make a difference.
At Keystone Basement Systems, we remain committed to restoring pride not only inside homes but throughout the communities we proudly serve - one project, one neighborhood, and one community at a time.
