Crawl Space Repair in New Cumberland, WV

After attending a local homeshow fair and speaking with one of our specialists about the problems they were facing, a New Cumberland, WV homeowner scheduled a free crawl space repair inspection. During the inspection, our specialist found signs of water damage to the crawl space walls and foundation. They provided the homeowner with an estimate to repair the damage and suggested preventative measures to keep the crawl space dry in the future. Our Field Inspector, Chris Bailey, recommended encapsulating the crawl space with our CleanSpace Encapsulation System. He explained the encapsulation system installation process to the homeowner, who was eager to have our crew get started on their crawl space repair. After removing the wet and musty debris, we sealed the crawl space walls and open vents with SilverGlo insulation, and mechanically fastened CleanSpace vapor barrier to the piers and over the dirt floor. This created a dry, conditioned environment below the home, protecting it from moisture, pests, and other contaminants. The homeowner was thrilled with the results and thanked us for a job well done.

Stone Basement Wall Restoration

The property featured a venerable 125-year-old sandstone foundation exhibiting extensive water-induced degradation and erosion within the mortar joints. Compounded by the irregular shape and deterioration of the stones, the structural integrity of the foundation was compromised. To rectify this, our approach centered on implementing a multi-faceted restoration strategy aimed at fortifying the foundation against further deterioration.

Initially, we undertook the application of a reinforced mortar coating to bolster the structural integrity of the foundation and address existing damage within the mortar joints. This process involved meticulous attention to detail to ensure uniform coverage and adherence to industry standards.

Subsequently, we opted for the application of metal lath, strategically positioned to provide additional structural support and enhance the bonding interface between the substrate and subsequent coatings. This step served as a critical preparatory measure, facilitating the effective application of a cementitious coating in the subsequent phase of the restoration process.

Finally, a cementitious coating was meticulously applied, leveraging advanced application techniques to achieve a seamless and durable finish. This final layer served to encapsulate the foundation, providing enhanced protection against water infiltration and mitigating the risk of further erosion and degradation.

In summary, our comprehensive restoration approach, encompassing reinforced mortar application, metal lath installation, and cementitious coating, exemplifies our commitment to preserving and fortifying historic structures against the ravages of time and environmental factors.
